Charlotte (Charlie) Stewart-Brown, founder of Indiv Yoga, was born in London in 1981 and was eventually recommended Yoga and Meditation at 14 years old, after struggling with anxiety and anxiety related disorders. In 2008 after a degree in Psychology & Sociology, and some grueling years in business, she finally decided to finish her RYT 200 hours Yoga Teacher Training and dedicate herself to teaching yoga full time.
With a difficult childhood in the pressure of London, Charlie started to find strength & calm through yogic breathing exercises, zen meditation & different styles of yoga. She has since trained with some of the most renowned yoga teachers around the world (David Swenson, Shiva Rea, Anne-Marie Newland, Sadhguru, Sadie Nardini, Leslie Kaminoff, Sonia Sumar) studying Hatha, Sivanada, Ashtanga, Children and Family Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Yoga for Special Needs and Inner Engineering. She has become well known for her successful work in Yoga for anxiety, and Yoga for Autistic Spectrum Disorder and ADHD.
With more than 1300 training hours and 22,500 teaching hours, Charlie holds the highest yoga qualifications as an ERYT500 (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher 500hrs), RCYT (Registered Children´s Yoga Teacher), RPYT (Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher) and YCEP (Yoga Continued Education Provider) with the Yoga Alliance. She holds retreats, seminars and teacher training courses internationally and is the voice of the ‘Yoga & Mindfulness Program’ on British Airways long-haul flights. She gives seminars at international corporations and gave the presentation on the importance of implementing mindfulness in schools at the SGIS (Swiss Group of International Schools) Annual Conference.
She is the lead trainer on the Indiv Yoga RYT200 & RCYT Kids Yoga Teacher Training Courses, having certified over 400 students worldwide. She holds popular yoga retreats in beautiful venues in Switzerland and Portugal, which teach yoga and mindfulness techniques that can be easily applied in everyday life. Now living in Switzerland with her husband, she developed Indiv Yoga™ as a therapeutic approach to yoga and meditation, that every individual can benefit from. She is dedicated to the continued study of yoga, science, philosophy and meditation, to share her knowledge and experience with as many people as she can, and keep training more Indiv Yoga teachers around the world.
I’ve lived it and worked hard at it, so now let me share it with you.
Yoga for Every Individual
Indiv Yoga™ is a blend of Vinyasa, Hatha and Restorative yoga with the belief that the benefits of yoga, meditation and mindfulness, can be applied to every kind of individual. Indiv Yoga™ classes are structured and tailored to the individual’s strengths, weaknesses and objectives. It’s primary focus is diminishing the anxieties of modern day life in adults and children, by achieving physical and mental balance, to attain inner calm and strength.
Indiv Yoga™ classes and courses do not have a rigid structure or set sequence. The poses, breathing exercises and meditations are dependent on those attending, and evolve with the objective of physical and mental balance.
Charlie has trained in yoga for all ages and abilities, including special needs, elderly, pre/post natal, and predominately in anxiety disorders in adults and children. Her popular RYT200 hours Yoga Teacher Training Course is one of the most internationally all-rounded yoga programs, producing teachers worldwide with a wide skill set for applying yoga to every type of individual.
Yoga has been helping me for over 26 years. It’s given me strength, calm and control in my battle with anxiety. Its benefit is the ability to achieve mental and physical balance for a healthier and happier life. It’s a resource that everyone can benefit from and I’m here to help you do that!
