Here is some additional information you will need regarding your course. Please read the information carefully and save this email to prevent asking questions that have already been answered closer to the course start date!
- Arrival – Students must plan to arrive at the retreat center between 2 – 5.30pm (no earlier or later) for the course debrief at 6pm.
- Departure – By 11am on the last course day.
- The date that the course starts is the arrival day. Indiv Yoga cannot provide accommodation before this date or after the course end date.
- The nearest airport is LYON (45 mins to Bouvesse Quirieu).
- Free transport to the center from Lyon airport leaves promptly at 4.30pm on arrival day, and leaves back to Lyon airport at 9.30am on departure day.
- If your flight arrives earlier you can choose to take an Uber or taxi to the venue independently, arriving no earlier than 2pm.
- Outdoor parking is available in a secure location with the retreat vehicles, however we cannot take responsibility for the safety of your vehicle.
- Read ‘Yoga For Every Body’ by Luisa Ray. DO NOT attempt any poses or pranayama exercises that have not already been taught to you by a professional yoga teacher. This book does not need to be brought with you to the course
- Evaluate 5 yoga classes: The classes must be a minumum of 60 mins and ideally in person, otherwise online but not pre-recorded. They must include a Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and Yin Yoga class and an additional one of your choosing. Write a short description of the class, what made it different and what you did and didn’t like about it. Use these classes to get an idea of different teaching methods and the type of teacher you would like to be. They should be emailed to Charlie all together anytime up to the course start date.
- Watch the pre-course videos with the accompanying PDF files, that will be sent to you a few months before the course start date, make comprehensive notes that you can revise from, and note down any points of discussion to have with Charlie and your cohort when in person.
- Yoga clothes, some warmer for chilly early mornings, and evenings, including thick socks for inside the dharma hall
- Refillable water bottle
- Suitable walking shoes
- Swimwear, sunblock, sunhat etc in warmer months
- A4 Notepad with 2 holes for filing in the course folder & pens
- Book: The Bhagavad Gita by Eknath Easwaran in English
- Any particular dietary items you need that may be difficult to find in rural France i.e. vegan ingredients, supplements, protein powder etc
- Yoga props prescribed by a physiotherapist for any injuries or medical issues
- Toiletries
- Euros (we are far from a cash withdrawal ATM, so in case of extra food items, snacks, or laundry, please bring cash)
- Sunbathing/garden towel (in case you dip into the river:-)

PRE-COURSE HOMEWORK
The following must be done prior to the course commencing:
WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU
(Course manual, yoga mat, bed linen, towels, shower gel, and hairdryer are provided during the course. If needed there will be 1 clothes washing day at the end of the 1st week at 3€ per person to be paid to the housekeeper in cash).
PAYMENT – through the Indiv Yoga website
- The course fee can be paid in full or in 2 payments: The first payment (deposit) of 50% of the course fee is made on booking, and the 2nd payment is made 2 months before the course start date.
- Once the 1st payment (deposit) is received, your place on the course is reserved.
- Payment will be automatically debited from your credit card 2 months before the course start date. If the payment cannot be processed your place may be given to someone on the waiting list.
- Deposits are non-refundable.
- If the course is booked within 2 months of the course start date, the full course fee will be debited from your card.
PAYMENT – through a 3rd party website eg. bookretreats.com - If you have booked through a third party site, your final payment is made on your account page on the Indiv Yoga site, and must be received before the due date.
You will not be reminded so please make a note of your responsability to have the payment received by that date.
